Required for Non-Invasive Installation
As
non-invasive installation differs in concept and application from traditional
door installation, materials and tools required differ also. Following is
a material and tool list required for correct installation:
Materials
Needed:
- Jamb Clips
- 6 each per opening. Constructed of 18 gauge metal, 6-1/2" to 7-5/8"
long, 1" to 1-1/2" wide with 5 screw holes predrilled - 3 for
attachment to door jamb and 1 at each end for attachment to wall studs.
End holes are located 1/4" from each end. Score and bend clip on one
end 90 degrees approximately 1-1/2" from end. 3 holes for jamb attachment
start 1/2" from bend and are spaced equally across the next 3-1/2"
(1-3/4" apart). Place second score line 4-1/2" from first bend.
See illustration Screws for clip
attachment to jambs should be 5/8" to 3/4". We recommend 1-5/8"
sheetrock screws for clip attachment to the wall stud.
Jamb clips can be made at most local machine shops or metal fabrication
facilities.
